April 1- $15 and Fairness Rally – Poverty Wages Are No Joke
April 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us on April 1st to rally for Nova Scotian workers’ right to a fair wage, and let the Government know no one should have to live below the poverty line. The minimum wage in Nova Scotia is currently the lowest in the country. On April 1st, 2019, the Liberal Government will be raising the minimum wage by 55 cents, to $11.55 an hour; this is still not enough. The Fight for $15 and Fairness movement is organizing across Canada, and the Halifax chapter is pushing for change- we push for higher wages and for improved labour protections and rights across Nova Scotia.
We will be rallying at the Province House/One Government Place, (1700 Granville St, Halifax, NS) starting at 12pm.
Change IS possible when we organize and make our voices heard. So join us April 1st, and let’s show Stephen McNeil that $11.55 an hour is a joke that no one is laughing at.
